There are very good tram connections to Heidelberg and Mannheim. The streetcars run every 10 minutes. Heidelberg is about 9 km away and Mannheim about 20 km. The urban area is almost completely surrounded by the city district of Heidelberg, with Eppelheim bordering the districts of Wieblingen to the north, Pfaffengrund to the east and Kirchheim to the south. To the west is the municipality of Plankstadt, which belongs to the Rhine-Neckar district.
